Employment Experience includes:
Management
- Recruited, trained and manage a team of three assistants
- Represent the Employment Service on senior management steering groups – HR, Business Enterprise Unit, Teaching, Learning and Student Affairs
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of the service
- Liaise with senior management on a variety of projects and consult on issues relating to student employment

Strategy & Development
- Identified, implemented and developed appropriate ICT for the application of service delivery for the Employment Service

- Integration of two separate employment services into one - identifying comparative functions and amalgamating codes of practice, online presence and vacancy management systems

Background in Recruitment
- Ensuring all employers adhere to all statutory legal requirements and good practice
- Dealing with employers and any disputes and issues that may arise in regards to employment
- Academic study of an Employment Law module as part of my current MA
- Identifying new employment legislation in relation to student employment
- Liaising and working closely with internal and external colleagues to establish an active role for the Employment Service in supporting the development of student employability skills
- Advise Senior Management and external media on student employment related issues – BBC Radio Four debate, Evening Standard and internal media
- Screening of applications and CV’s on behalf of employers
- Recruit, select and interview candidates alongside senior management for roles within the department. This includes full-time permanent positions and student temping roles
- Advise students on CV’s, cover letters and general applications
- Work closely with local Job Centres and Job Brokerages for the application of best practice and service delivery
- Represent the University and advise on various local initiatives and steering groups such as the Islington Creative Sector Training Framework Study
Communication/Interpersonal
- Research and deliver presentations to large groups of students on specialist employment areas
- Write publicity materials – leaflets, booklets and flyers for the purpose of marketing and promotion
- Reported and consulted with Senior Management on the implementation of a Content Relationship Management System within the University
- Reported to the Vice Chancellor and senior management on external commercial Employment Services
- Continually report to line management on various employment related initiatives/issues – including the new NEMS system
- Promote the service and its benefits to employers and students
- Develop effective links with local and national employers
- Provide one to one advice to students on employment
Organisation & Negotiation
- Organised seven Employment and Recruitments Fairs, including marketing the event to employers and students, coordinating publicity, preparing the venue, processing correspondence for up to 30 organisations and dealing with all queries
- Implemented MATRIX quality standards as part of a recent external quality accreditation
- Representing the London and South East members of NASES (National Association of Student Employment Services) - organising quarterly meetings and distributing information
