Voluntary Work         March  2004 onwards:

Since March I have been travelling and carrying out voluntary work. From November until December I taught at a primary school in Cusco, Peru. In July I worked at the Landmine Museum in Siem Reap, Cambodia. From April until May I worked as an English teacher at a secondary school in Kathmandu, Nepal.

European Account Development Manager

Objectives; to increase client revenues by increasing traffic to the client site, increasing percentage of this traffic that actually ordered and increasing average order value per customer. Generating additional client fees for managed services such as marketing and managing client specific projects. To be the primary contact for the key clients such as Nokia, Trend Micro and Palm, and to manage the Account Co-ordinators. 

• Increased the Nokia Software Market sales by 180% over 14 months by encouraging Nokia to change the site flow, improve the site content and enhance their online marketing. I also improved the client service level by simplifying the communication methods between Digital River, Nokia and its developers.
• Successfully negotiated the contract for Trend Micro’s Australian business unit and improved their gross monthly sales from an average of $23,000 to $118,000. 
• Won Trend Micro European business after several presentations to the Trend Micro board. This increased Trend Micro’s gross monthly sales from $97,000 to $227,000 over seven months.
• Developed a 12 month marketing calendar for each client to increase site traffic, reduce the drop-off rate, increase the average order value and encourage customers to return to the site. The result was an average increase in sales of  53%
• Managed the Account Co-ordinators to ensure that all the campaigns agreed with the clients were set up correctly and in a timely manner.
• Successfully project managed several technical site and back end process enhancements for Palm and Nokia such as the Palm journalist programme and process for handling customer service issues.
• Initiated a project to reduce fraud across all the European sites resulting in a 34% decrease in fraudulent transactions after five months.
• Used my fluent German, French and Spanish to manage stores and campaigns across these countries.

TT Electronics is a global electronics company supplying leading manufacturers in a range of industries.

For the first six months I was seconded to AB Elektronik in Germany. I was involved in a wide range of aspects of Operations Management including the integration of SAP R/3 Software, how to overcome increased product demand and Supply Chain Management. From August 2000 onwards I took charge of the Renault account at AB Electronic in the UK and improved its profitability by 27% within six months.

• Summer 1999: Social Organiser at the English Language Teaching Centre, Manchester.

This position required effective communication and leadership skills.

I regularly gave oral presentations, organised weekend trips around England and planned and carried out the social programme for over 1200 foreign students.

• February-August 1998: Work placement at the Siemens’ Language Services Department, Munich.

I worked as part of the Project Management team to manage the translation            of Siemens’ materials. I used SAP R/3 extensively, liased with              suppliers and customers and translated technical documents.

• July-December 1997: Work placement as a technical translator for Alcatel Business Systems, France. Here I worked in a team to produce communication system manuals.
• Summer 1996: Participant in voluntary project in Quebec to reconstruct burnt down church.
